Monstrous was recorded / engineered 

on ADAT by (Doc) Peter Soper after work, 

in a quiet room behind the laboratory, 

far from prying eyes. It was the perfect time

and place for creative artistic expression

and happy-hour camaraderie. But soon

his formulas of digital conversion and

skillful amplification led to darker experiments

in energy conversion, regeneration and horror. 

Additional samples and transitions were un-

earthed and turned into 1's and 0's under

dubious and suspicious circumstances.

 

The limbs of keys and trunks of rhythm 

were stitched together with words and noises.

Then at the instant directly between his complex algorythms and scientific intuition, 

a lightning charged guitar revives the creature

and sets it's heavy machinery in motion. 

It's a bit of twist on a classic tale of death, 

rebirth and transformation. Originally conceived through a collaboration of random forces and clinical lunacy. Yet it breathed... and it was somehow more than the sum of it's parts.
